Unless I'm requested by the homeowner, I will use an 18 gauge under mount stainless steel sink from Amerisink. They will not show rust spots like most of the cheaper imports. Trust me when I say, the last thing you will ever want to replace in your kitchen is an under mount sink. The countertop is cut to the dimensions of that specific sink and they can be a real nightmare to remove. When I choose a sink, I choose one that has the ability to outlast your kitchen.
All of my kitchen renovations include a quality faucet with a lifetime manufacturer's warranty. I like to use Kohler or Delta, and occasionally American Standard or Price Pfister. All of these brands back their products and will ship replacement parts if necessary years after installation.
All of my shower and bathtub surrounds consist of stone. With stone, I am able to create matching stone corner mount soap dishes and niches. My showers with custom built pans have two different layers of waterproofing for long lasting durability.
I use LED bulbs in my renovations. Most LED bulbs will last approximately 50,000 hours of use. If you used an LED bulb for 5 hours a day, 365 days a year, it would last almost 30 years! They also require 1/4 of the energy of an incandescent bulb and 1/2 the energy of a CFL. While saving you a lot of money on electricity, they also emit less heat while on keeping your house much cooler while you use them.
